Job Duties:

• Oversee all aspects of programming for the project.
• Identify what tools and procedures will be needed throughout the development process.
• Provide input to the other directors on the feasibility of design goals and the impact to the project schedule.
• Head up the creation of accurate Technical Design Documents (TDD).
• Determine the project's hiring needs in regards to programming staff, then fill those needs and bring new hires up to speed on TDD & established protocols.
• Help focus the programming wing of development & inspire them on a daily basis to help get things done.
• Assist programming leads in creating, maintaining and driving schedules.
• Review programming code for quality, consistency and compliance with TDD and established protocol.
• Evaluate milestones for technical completion, quality and compliance.
• Identify technical problems, and work with producers, leads and other directors to solve them.
• Keep up with current advances in technology and propose new innovations that may benefit the project.
• Provide trouble shooting, debugging and problem solving assistance.
• Work closely with other directors to ensure cooperation between the design, programming and art disciplines.
  

Requirements:

• Exhibit enthusiasm, positive attitude, and charisma. Must be a proven leader.
• 3+ years of management experience in the game industry with at least one shipped title as a manager.
• 6+ years of programming experience.
• Working knowledge of the various aspects of game development.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Detail-oriented and driven by results.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Outstanding coding and debugging skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• The ability to motivate and inspire those around them.
• Must have excellent database & realtime server skills.
• An excellent understanding of MMO infrastructure, and 3D PC & console games development.

Wouldn’t Hurt to Have:

• Previous MMORPG experience.
• Familiarity with the post-apocalyptic genre.
• E-commerce website/billing implementation.
• iPhone apps development
• Facebook and other social networks applications development
• VoIP implementation
• SMS in/out implementation
• Flash development
• Back Office tools construction or specification
• Perfect knowledge in C/C++ programming, including NVidia & ATI 3D graphic cards

Important Note:

Interplay's development team is located in Irvine, Orange County, CA with an important sub-contractor in Bulgaria. Applicant must be available to travel to Europe as necessary.
